Car Porn: The Zenos E-10

I wanted to start this post with a quote by Colin Chapman, but I figured most of you have no idea who he is, and wouldn’t care anyway. Perhaps he is material for a future Found on Wikipedia post.

Anyway, I love cars. Muscle cars, supercars, off-roaders, rat rods lowriders… you get the picture. Of all cars, I love lightweight sports cars the most. They aren’t going to set any 1/4 mile or land speed records, and they certainly won’t have the amenities of a luxury vehicle, but in trade, you get automotive magic.

Lightweight cars can carry more speed through a corner. They allow you to brake later, and accelerate sooner. They don’t need a lot of power to be fun, and when you screw up, they are generally more forgiving.

My latest light-car temptation is the Zenos E-10. It’s the creation of a few Caterham and Lotus expatriates. See again, Colin Chapman.

At 1400 (ish) pounds this car weighs about half as much as a smaller car like the Honda Civic and about a quarter as much as a loaded F-150 pickup. It achieves this weight by using advanced construction techniques, and by skipping unnecessary luxuries like heated seats, seven speaker stereo, and, um… doors.

This car is coming to the USA in 2015 and I can’t wait to see it in the flesh. Until then, enjoy this gallery.
